As a leader in surface coatings for the space industry, MAP SPACE COATINGS is strengthening its presence in the space ecosystem with a view to expanding its network and helping to keep pace with the profound changes taking place in the space sector.
In recent months, the French company has joined several influential networks and leading professional groups, at both local and national level.
This move is in line with the Ariège-based company's new strategy and its ambitious transformation project launched in 2024.
A proactive strategy to anticipate changes in the industry
While MAP SPACE COATINGS benefits from a technological heritage spanning almost 40 years, working for some of the biggest contractors in the sector*, the company is now looking to extend its influence by joining the strategic organisations that help to shape the French space industry at various levels.
This initiative aims to confirm the Group's position as a key player, fully involved in the sector's development and necessary adaptation. The space sector is indeed facing a context of rapid change, notably with the unprecedented rise of New Space, the growing importance of private players and the many technological disruptions that have been redefining the space landscape for several years.
Pierre Valenti, CEO of MAP SPACE COATINGS, points out: “The aim of our approach is twofold: firstly, to offer our contribution and expertise to anticipate technological and commercial developments in the sector; and secondly, to strengthen our links with the key players in our ecosystem. In this way, we aim to increase our growth opportunities in France and worldwide, while positioning ourselves as an active contributor to innovation.”
Strategic partnerships and an ambitious roadmap for the future
Since the beginning of 2024, MAP SPACE COATINGS has joined several key networks to consolidate its position in the space sector and develop strong synergies with its peers: Aerospace Valley (Europe's leading competitiveness cluster for the Aeronautics, Space and UAV industries), the GALAXIE Club (which brings together around one hundred companies and institutions in the space
sector, representing 35,000 industrial and service jobs in the Occitanie region), the Van Allen Foundation (supported by the Montpellier University Space Centre), and GIFAS (French Aerospace Industries Group).
“The integration of these various groups and networks allows MAP SPACE COATINGS to develop strong synergies with its peers and promote its industrial capabilities. At the same time, we are actively involved in the Research and Development projects and discussions of the various players in the sector to meet the new challenges of space on a global scale,” explains Pierre Valenti.
In the coming months, MAP SPACE COATINGS also plans to join other major networks, such as the New Space France Alliance and the New Space Factory, in order to consolidate its position in New Space and increase its influence internationally.
Through these many initiatives, MAP SPACE COATINGS is establishing itself as a dynamic player, resolutely focused on innovation and the future, at the service of French and European competitiveness and sovereignty in the space industry.
MAP SPACE COATINGS recently announced the strengthening of its long-standing collaboration with major players such as Airbus Defence and Space and Thales Alenia Space through two multi-year framework agreements. (Press releases available upon request))
